1. March 2016 Expression of interest by Lancaster City Council in government's garden village scheme

2 January 2017 Bailrigg Garden Village announced by government with no previous consultation with local residents. 3,500 -5,000 houses on West side of West Coast Mainline. Reconfiguration of Junction 33 to site north of Galgate.

3 Winter 2017 Informal group of residents in Galgate, Burrow and Bailrigg formed what became Galgate Community Action Group Facebook Group. They coordinated a petition of 400 signatures that was submitted to Lancaster City Council in April 2017.

4. June 2017 Meeting of those interested in forming a campaign group to fight the scale of Bailrigg Garden Village
5. July 2017 7000 leaflets distributed in South Lancaster proposing the formation of CLOUD Here is link to the leaflet

8. October 2017 Inaugural AGM of CLOUD
Our aims were outlined in our constitution:
​
a) The aim of CLOUD shall be to: stop the proposed development of Bailrigg garden village and, where we judge it is appropriate, to help other local action groups objecting to other unnecessary developments, as set out in the current Lancaster city council Local Plan.
​
b) Two working groups were set up to analyse housing need and transport policy, supported by co-opted experts.
​
